Primary objective To establish a single domain site http://www.undergroundcoal.com.au/ to provide coal mining industry with the necessary information on underground coal mining via the World Wide Web. Targeting 31st March 2009 as “Go live”

Attributes of undergroundcoal.com.au Maintenance of the coal mining industry’s “body of knowledge” of practices, procedures and experiences. Resource database of best practice workshops and conferences, mine sites, OEMs, researchers and developers, universities, government departments and inspectorates and industry publications. Availability of dynamic hyperlinks to: proceedings of current and past best practice workshops and conferences; national and international websites to provide additional sources of information. Means of informing: the industry’s roadway development key performance parameters, as well as positive/adverse factors which affect mines productivity. The wider community on improvements and innovations adopted by the coal mining industry. “Technical note page”, thus providing opportunity for industry personnel to share their experiences with others.
