Paired Research Work In pairs research the answers to the questions below and present them in some way. Presentation, video or poster would be acceptable. What is “WannaCry”? Where did it come from? How many NHS hospitals and computers were affected? What were the implications on the normal day to day operations of the NHS? What were the risks to patients? Which other countries or organizations were attacked? Who is thought to be responsible? (There are several different opinions on this) What evidence is there to prove this? Why did they do it? What were they hoping to gain from this attack? Why were so many computers affected? How did it spread so easily? What needs to be done to prevent future attacks? Why weren't these things already done to such important computers? There was a suggestion that computers could be used to monitor patients heart rate and other info, then administer drugs automatically if required. In light of the “WannaCry” attack, what are the safety and ethical issues with this idea? Rights of the video are held by the BBC or other organisations are fully reserved.
