Implement: Planting the Seeds of Service! Decorate your meeting room – with permission from your faculty advisor! Include links to the DCON webpage on the CyberKey into your club websites and newsletters throughout the year. Include the DCON logo and theme throughout your meetings, agendas, newsletters, socials. Recognize members who are “Planting the Seeds of Service”

So How Can You Attend? Be an officially dues paid club (not delinquent) Keep track of deadlines School paperwork Check with your school ASAP! Do this in the fall. Some schools need 3+ months of notice Examples: school district approval, teacher signatures, leadership forms, overnight forms, transportation forms Some school districts require school background checks, in addition to Kiwanis background checks

Financial Overview Dates & Deadlines: Registration fees apply to Key Club members and chaperones Registration Opens: December 1st, 2016 On-time Registration Fee: $196 Received by District Office: February 22nd, 2017 Late Registration Fee: $236 Received by District Office: March 13th, 2017

Financial Overview What should be in your budget? Reach out to your sponsoring Kiwanis Club FUNDRAISE!!! Registration Fee: $196 On-Time, $236 Late, Saturday morning to Sunday morning meals, Key Note Speaker, etc. Transportation: Airfare, Train Fare, Bus Cost, Rental Van, Advisor Vehicle (mileage), Parking, etc. Hotel: 1 Hotel, Anaheim Marriott, 4 people maximum, cost will vary depending on member attendance (# of rooms) Other: Friday night meals, incidentals, etc.

Chaperones 10 Key Clubbers : 1 Chaperone Gender matters! If you have 1 female and 1 male student you must have 1 female and 1 male advisor This rule must be followed Communicate, plan ahead, and share chaperones with other clubs and divisions. Remember: Students may NEVER make chaperone- sharing decisions on behalf of the adults. This is about liability and proper etiquette. No one should ever volunteer chaperoning services on behalf of someone else without their permission.

Chaperones Look for chaperones EARLY Pay for chaperones’ registration, hotel, and Friday night food Thank you – in person and handwritten 1 chaperone for every 10 members (gender specific) Chaperones must be at least 21 years old and background checked Only chaperones can drive cars or vans
