Types of Cells

Vary greatly in size and shape Animal Cells Have no rigid shape Vary greatly in size and shape

Plant Cells Have a cell wall made of cellulose Are usually rectangular in shape Can make their own food by using green chloroplasts

Animal and Plant Cells Have their cell parts surrounded by membranes Are called EUKARYOTES meaning that they have membrane bound organelles

Do not have their cell parts surrounded by membranes Bacteria Cells Do not have their cell parts surrounded by membranes Are called PROKARYOTES meaning that they have no membrane bound organelles

Cells come in all sizes and shapes On average, prokaryotic cells are smallest, followed by animal cells. Plant cells are biggest. Cells can be any shape
