History & Background 2001 TECDOC 1254 2004 TNA 2007 2 TMs, SARCoN, Bureau, Gestation of the SC 2009 SC 2010 DPP for the Safety Report

Purpose and Scope TECDOC proposed a 4Q competence model for regulators and recommends SAT SC produced and completed questionnaires on the training management systems SARCoN guidelines used TECDOC model, SAT and emphasizes the process of TNA Based on the above the Steering Committee advised the IAEA to produce a safety report

Purpose and Scope The safety report had the purpose of: Revising the competence model of TECDOC 1254 Use the experience and insights from applying SARCoN Provide a general framework for the processes of managing and ensuring regulatory competence The scope of the safety report is: Facilities and activities It addresses specifically challenges of countries embarking in a NPP It does not provide specific country examples but give sound basis for future developments such a revised SARCoN tool and possibly a new TECDOC focusing on HRD

Next steps SARCoN Update the full questionnaires according to the new revised model. Planning a DPP for publication of SARCoN, currently preparing a report on its use and lessons learnt Produce and inventory of available training materials for each quadrant Linking the safety report and SARCoN to HRD
