SMART'S MILL MIDDLE SCHOOL Differentiated Instruction WE MAKE IT HAPPEN! A process of tailoring instruction to meet the individual needs of students (high and low). Can take place through differentiating content, process, or products. Content and essential knowledge for all sixth grade content courses is based on the SOLs.

THIS IS NOT SOMETHING BRAND NEW. SMART'S MILL MIDDLE SCHOOL Differentiated Instruction WE MAKE IT HAPPEN! THIS IS NOT SOMETHING BRAND NEW. We have been making our classes heterogeneous for five years, but it always happened. Prior to implementation 75-85% of our students were enrolled in “Honors” classes. 10-15% in “Academic” and 10% in “Self-contained” programs.
