Imagery English 10-1

What is Imagery? Imagery is when we use figurative language to represent various things in a way that appeals to our 5 physical senses Imagery is visually descriptive language Imagery a literary device Imagery is what helps us to use words to create visual representations in our minds

Examples of Imagery Came and went like time spent through an hourglass Where the ocean kissed the southern shore He fumed and charged like an angry bull The concert was so loud that her ears rang for days afterwards The tree bark was rough against her skin

Imagery, mood & tone Imagery can help set the mood or tone of a piece of literature by describing characters, surroundings, etc.
