Homework begins September 4th! Read Every Day- “RED” folder Sight Word Practice daily Dreambox – online Math program 20 minutes per week

Transportation ** Changes of transportation will be allowed ONLY with written notification or in person prior to 2:30pm. Emergency changes can be faxed in with a copy of your state issued ID. ***School zones are a *** ** Only walkers & bike riders have a rainy day plan. Parent’s will be notified by text/email if rainy day dismissal is called. ** Please keep transportation tags and updated phone numbers on backpacks.

Fieldtrips We will take 2 fieldtrips. Students will ride a bus to and from the fieldtrip. Parents may sign up as chaperones. A lottery system will choose the official chaperones that will ride the bus with the class and help supervise the students. All parents are welcome to meet us there.

Lunch Kindergarten Lunch 10:25 – 10:55am Pre-pay through My Payments Plus!! If you send money, it must be in an envelope or baggie labeled with child’s first and last name and purpose. Additional Items for extra cost Lunch visitors are welcome to eat at the (starting 9/4) parent table with their child Stroller parking outside the cafeteria. Say goodbye in the cafeteria, exit through main office

Snacks & Drinks Snack time is in the afternoon, before specials. One snack per day Finger foods Encourage healthy snacks Kept separate from lunch and labeled Water only in the classrooms – We have a water fountain! Water bottles must have a sports top. .

Birthdays *Summer birthdays will be celebrated too! ·      * Students may bring individual, store bought birthday treats with a visible ingredient label. These will be shared during snack time. *Summer birthdays will be celebrated too! *We recommend cookies, doughnuts, fruit snacks, brownies, rice Krispy treats. * No goodie bags, gifts, balloons, or invitations are allowed at school (or on the bus).

Take Home Folders Take Home folders will be sent home daily. Inside the daily folders will be… Self Reflection Chart Daily work/projects School information Notes from teacher **Please empty folder each night and initial the Self Reflection chart!! .

Class Self Reflection Plan Self Reflection Chart (inside daily take home folder). Student discusses with the teacher what color will represent their day. Purple – Amazing Day Orange - on track *majority of children Yellow – several warnings about behaviors *this will be accompanied by a note. 6 classroom Expectations reviewed daily Respect others, yourself and school. Follow directions quickly and quietly. Be safe Be honest. Listen when someone is talking. Raise your hand to speak. Follow hallway expectations.

Illness/Nurse Medications must be dropped off at the nurse. Students with a temperature of 100* or higher, vomiting, or Diarrhea will be sent home and must be symptom free for 24 hours without medication before returning to school. Please notify the school nurse of any injury or illness your student has that would effect them at school. (ie. Crutches, cast, head injury, lice, etc.) School Nurse: Tara Maher 281-237-8335

Other Helpful Information Conferences will be scheduled in October and November. Also available upon request. Specials are PE, Art, & Music (on a 4 day rotations schedule). Please wear tennis shoes for PE. Label everything! Student ID’s must be worn everyday. Replacements cost $3 Library is once a week If your child is absent, call the office 281-237-8300 Put a complete change of clothes in a large baggie to keep in your child’s backpack.
