What do you get? The SMF run two types of programme: Aspiring Professionals Programme Residential Internship Programme Students can apply for the APP if they are eligible They can also apply for one residential programme if they are in the following career sectors: accountancy; banking and finance; engineering; medicine; law; politics

What do you get? Mentoring Students matched with a professional from their career sector Email correspondence takes place over our secure e-mentoring site DBS checked and briefed by e-mentoring coordinator Mentors are given monthly bulletins and topics to discuss with their mentees

What do you get? Internships Students provided with 1 or 2 week work placement in their chosen sector over the school holidays Takes place in their home city or London Students are supported with guides, resources and check ups before and after their internship

University application advice Free university visits Personal statement advice and checking service Oxbridge interview workshops and advice Support with UKCAT/BMAT/LNAT and Oxbridge admissions tests Top tips to improve their application to Russell Group universities

What do you get? Skills sessions Workshops include: creating a professional impression, confidence building, networking, leadership qualities, CV writing, assessment centre and interview workshops, tips on building a LinkedIn profile and a professional online presence

What career do you want? 11 career sectors: Students choose 1 of 11 career sectors and support is tailored to match their interests and requirements

Universities we work with include… Students are invited to tailored SMF university open days. These include a campus tour, student panel with undergraduates and HE sessions

Firms we work with include… Students may be offered internships with competitive firms such as these who run our residential internship programmes

Does it work? 53% of SMF students got into a top university 95% of students said they wouldn’t have got their internship without the SMF 95% said they felt more confident about getting into their dream career sector Statistics show that the programmes are successful in helping students get into their chosen university and gain career experience

The application form is detailed but easy to complete Start by entering how you are eligible for the programmes Enter personal details including teacher reference information and emergency contact numbers Select the programme you are applying for. Remember that this can be APP and a residential programme

Enter academic results and any extenuating circumstances Answer 10 assessment questions. Try your best as these answers are sent to employers before internships. We use the information to get to know you better and offer you the right opportunities. Questions are about the career sector you are interested in, skills that you have developed and your opinion on some current affairs topics
