Spring 2 and Summer 1 Secret Gardens. Science Plants. Observe and describe how seeds and bulbs grow into mature plants. Find out and describe how plants need water, light, and a suitable temperature to grow and stay healthy. Write an information sheet about how bulbs mature into plants, describing the changes that occur. (Big write). Using illustrations and text create a poster to describe the processes of plant reproduction for a variety plants including flowering and non flowering. Following learning that plants need water to grow… Investigation- We have learned that plants need water to grow but could it be any liquid? English Continue to listen to a variety of texts, discussing and expressing views. Recognise the difference between non-fiction and fiction texts and know the features of each. Ask and answer question about books there have read themselves and books they have had read to them. Learn to spell and apply the correct spelling of the common exception words . Continue to improve handwriting. Using the class text. Develop stamina for writing correctly formed sentences which include.. Expanded noun phrases, adverbs, fronted adverbials, different sentence types and use the correct tense. Text to use . Map out a route to Eton Park Junior school. Chn to add on features they already know. Use directional vocab, compass, write a key to identify green space, different housing/building and vegetation (science link) During the field trip collect data using cameras, tally charts and sketched. Collate housing, shops, health care, open splaying spaces. Analyse and Present field trip findings, Answer pre trip questions and write a bout how the area could be improved.
