Personal life Mae Jemison was born in October 17,1956 Dr Jemison was selected for the astronaut program in June 1987 She became the first African American woman to travel in space She's a dancer and holds engineering letters and the humanities. She was the youngest of three children.

Professional life In 1973 jemison received a bachelor of association of space explorers. She is the current principal of the 100 starship organization. Mae went to college when she was only sixteen. Dr. Jemison was the science mission specialist She is a physician, peace corps volunteer, teacher actress astronaut accomplished dancer and founder of two technology

100 year starship The 100-year starship project aims develop the tools and technology necessary to build and fly a spaceship to another planetary system with the next 100 year 100-year starship program is exploring humanity would need to find a way to overcome some of its instability problems. The 100-year starship program not only includes engineer and astrophysics,but also artists and science fiction writers.

The-year starship project “I believe that pursuing an extraordinary tomorrow will create a better world today,”she said.traveling to another star takes far more time than just developing the necessary technology. Though many people object to funding the space program when there are humanitarian needs that have to be met on Earth,Jemison points out that such exploration often leads to innovation and unexpected technology that makes an impact on Earth-based program.
