Human Body Systems. What is a system? A group of cells, tissues and organs that work together both physically and chemically to carry out a task.
 System- group of parts that work together  Systems work together to form a larger unit. (Example: Organ systems work together to form our bodies.)
Body Systems Questions
What Are Body Systems? The single cell from which a baby is born ultimately divides into trillions of cells. These cells organize in a special way to form.

Organs and Organ Systems GHS S1

Skeleton Protection Support Movement

Organs

The eye is a sense organ that contains special cells sensitive to light so we can see the world around us Eyes

Muscles contract and pull on bones to make us move

Heart The Heart pumps blood that provides the other organs with oxygen and food

Stomach and Intestines Stomach and intestines digest food and puts it into the blood

Kidneys remove poisons from the blood and produces urine

Bones provide protection, support and allow movement

Uterus protects the baby until it is born

Arteries deliver oxygen Veins remove waste carbon dioxide

Red blood cells transport oxygen White blood cells fight disease

Brain processes information from our sense organs and controls our actions
