PLAN Results - 10th Grade Much like ACT Explore - ACT PLAN is a good place to compare your growth from 8th grade - 10th grade. Where are you now? Why do I take all these tests? Testing is a way to measure where you are and determine how much you need to improve to get to where you are going. PLAN/PSAT/SAT/ACT all show if you are on the right track for college readiness. 4-year institutions REQUIRE you prove you are ready for college level work. Other tests TSI EOC

How are test results used for dual credit? If you are planning to take dual credit courses, you must meet eligibility requirements through testing. ACT - Composite of 23; 19 in Math and Reading SAT - Composite of 1070; 500 in Math and Reading PSAT - Composite of 107; 50 in Math and Reading PLAN - Composite of 23; 19 in Math and Reading TSI - Math 350; Reading 351; Writing 363 or a 5/4. *EOC - Alg. 2 4000 and Eng. 2 Level 2 scores (beginning in 2015-2016) These scores along with the proper applications and tuition are required for you to enroll in dual credit courses.

Endorsements Requirements A student may earn an endorsement by successfully completing: •curriculum requirements for the endorsement •four credits in mathematics •four credits in science •two additional elective credits Total of 26 Credits for Graduation

STEM Endorsement A student may earn a STEM endorsement by completing foundation and general endorsement requirements including Algebra II, chemistry, and physics and: (A) a coherent sequence courses for four or more credits in CTE that consists of at least two courses in the same career cluster including at least one advanced CTE course which includes any course that is the third or higher course in a sequence. The courses may be selected from courses in all CTE career clusters or CTE innovative courses approved by the commissioner of education. The final course in the sequence must be selected from the STEM career cluster. (B) a coherent sequence of four credits in computer science selected from the following: Fundamentals of Computer Science •(C) A total of five credits in mathematics by successfully completing Algebra I, geometry, Algebra II and two additional mathematics courses for which Algebra II is a prerequisite •(D) A total of five credits in science by successfully completing biology, chemistry, physics, and two additional science courses •(E) In addition to Algebra II, chemistry, and physics, a coherent sequence of three additional credits from no more than two of the areas listed in (A), (B), (C), and (D)

Arts and Humanities A student may earn an arts and humanities endorsement by completing foundation and general endorsement requirements and: (A) A total of five social studies courses (B) four levels of the same language in a language other than English (C) two levels of the same language in a language other than English and two levels of a different language in a language other than English (D) four levels of American sign language (E) a coherent sequence of four credits by selecting courses from one or two categories or disciplines in fine arts or innovative courses approved by the commissioner (F) four English elective credits by selecting from the following: •English IV •Independent Study in English •Literary Genres •Creative Writing •Research and Technical Writing •Humanities •Advanced Placement English Literature and Composition; or •International Baccalaureate Language Studies A1 Higher Level; or •Communication Applications

Distinguished Level of Achievement A student may earn a distinguished level of achievement by successfully completing: • a total of four credits in mathematics, which must include Algebra II • a total of four credits in science • the remaining curriculum requirements • the curriculum requirements for at least one endorsement A student must earn distinguished level of achievement to be eligible for top 10% automatic admission.

Performance Acknowledgement A Student may earn an acknowledgement: for outstanding performance: • in a dual credit course (3.0-4.0 for 12 hours or more) • on an AP test or IB exam (3 or higher on AP exam) • on the PSAT, the ACT-Plan, the SAT, or the ACT (based upon set score criteria) • for earning a nationally or internationally recognized business or industry certification or license

Dual Credit Courses * Any student desiring to take dual credit courses must qualify for dual credit. Dual credit courses are currently provided by Cisco College Available Dual Credit Courses at CHS English 4 Biology Anatomy and Physiology Economics and Us Government Psychology and Sociology Algebra/Statistics Spanish 3 Welding Criminal Justice

Dual Credit Process 1. Apply for admissions to Cisco College (online application) 2. Meet TSI or other testing requirement 3. Complete the Dual Credit Request Form available on Cisco College website 4. Register for class through CHS 5. PAY YOUR TUITION PRIOR TO THE FIRST DAY OF CLASSES! 6. Purchase Textbooks 7. Apply yourself in class - dual credit does not equal easy!

How to declare your plan Step 1: https://docs.google.com/a/clydeisd.org/forms/d/1kL232gjHSkxBhF7WHSo5DSxnwUNIeaVKmVDsXaiit5E/viewform View the google live form. Complete the live form. You will choose all courses necessary to complete an endorsement. This form declares your endorsement plan and sends a copy of the plan to you. The document will need to be printed and signed. Step 2: Go to https://gb.txeis14.net/mz030902/Login.aspx and input your courses for next year. You will ONLY choose courses for the 14-15 school year. This schedule page will need to be printed and signed. Step 3: Return both forms to the counseling offices either at the HS or JrH
