MGEX Working Group Progress on recommendations made at the 2016 IGS workshop in Sydney, Australia Presented to the IGS Governing Board and Associate Members on 11 December 2016

The group recommends: Introduce SP3d in MGEX products AND make ACC s/w SP3d tolerant; Adopt new product naming scheme within IGS; Promote use consistent (pilot-only) tracking modes and secondary-code phase by all receivers; Promote robot calibration of receiver antennas for new constellations and signals; Update ANTEX with estimated PCOs for Galileo and BeiDou. Oliver Montenbruck MGEX Splinter Session Summary Recommendations Key highlights of the session included MGEX integration into the IGS network, combination of six MGEX ACs, modeling (SRP, attitude, antenna) accuracy issues, and ensuring transparency of employed models over strict harmonization.

Progress since Sydney Workshop recommendations Galileo PCOs from joint DLR/GFZ campaign including in latest ANTEX. Introduction of new product file names raised to IGS AC level. No relevant progress concerning other WS recommendations. Network consolidation largely accomplished (archival of RINEX3 multi-GNSS obs+nav files with long file names in joint repository with RINEX2 legacy data) Improvement of orbit/clock products through use of refined SRP models Journal paper on “The Multi-GNSS Experiment (MGEX) of the International GNSS Service (IGS) – Achievements, Prospects and Challenges” (Advances in Space Research, submitted Nov. 2016)

Future Work Coordinate implementation of SP3d at MGEX AC and IGS ACC level; pursue switch to long product files names at IGS level Promote multi-GNSS antenna calibration, harmonization of tracking types Research tasks/needs: Improvement of solar radiation pressure models for Galileo, BeiDou, QZSS Orbit and clock combination Development of multi-GNSS PPP standards
