4:10 – It gives him opportunity to display the characteristics of Christ. Problems give us opportunity to see what kind of Christians we are. 4:17 – Our temporary troubles are achieving for us an eternal reward, if we endure them in faith.
5:1 & 8 – He knew that even if his earthly body were dissolved, he would go to be with the Lord. 1 Cor. 3:11-15 – The judgment seat of Christ is where Christians receive their eternal rewards. These various rewards are called crowns (such as crown of life, crown of rejoicing, crown of righteousness, etc.).
Rev. 20:11-15 – This is the judgment bar of God, before whom all lost people must appear to receive their degree of eternal punishment.
8:2 – We should give liberally. 8:12-14 – We should give according to what we have received. 9:6 – We should give bountifully or generously. 9:7 – We should give cheerfully.
2 Cor. 9:6 & Luke 6:38 – Those who give generously shall reap generously. Tithing
1. Stripes, or floggings 2. Prison 3. Beaten with rods 4. Stoned 5. Shipwrecked 6. Various other perils, or dangers
12:9 – It is through our weakness that God demonstrates His power and strength. 13:14 – “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.”
