Special Education Staff List by Job Class Code For Your Information
Highly Qualified Teacher Computation
Highly Qualified Teacher Secondary Special Education Teachers Highly qualified requirements apply to secondary special education teachers when they are sole providers of core content. If they are sole providers of core content, then the teaching subject area code should reflect the content area they are teaching and they should appear on the Highly Qualified Teacher Report. If they are not sole content providers, then the teaching subject area code should be in the 1700 series and should not appear on the Highly Qualified Teacher Report as HQ requirements do not apply to these teachers. So it is possible for an AU to have no secondary teachers on the HQT Report, it is best to verify that the teaching subject area code that has been assigned is correct. I hope this information helps. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
