6th Grade Recipe Project Ms. Hoayeck Ms. O’Rourke

Project Goals Use fraction operations and proportions to adjust a recipe. Use technology to present the recipe to the class. Check out the project activities

Instructions: Using the laptops, research your favorite holiday recipe. You may work with a partner or by yourself. Copy your recipe and paste it into a Microsoft document. Make sure you decorate your recipe using pictures related to your chosen holiday. Upload your document into your teacher’s wiki account. Work on the following activities: Activity 1: How much of each ingredient will you need to double the amount of servings? Show work: Activity 2: If your holiday party is half of your recipe servings, how much of each ingredient will you need? Show your work:

Activity 3: You are having a holiday party and you are inviting 25 students. How would this change the amount of each ingredient in your recipe? Explain how you can change your recipe using math? How much of each ingredient will you use to serve everyone in your holiday party? Using Microsoft Word, create the recipe showing the new amount for 25 students. Show your work:
