Today’s Awesome Thing is… when it feels like the lyrics to the song you’re listening to were written just for you.

Literary Devices Techniques or tools used by a writer to create a particular effect in his/her writing. One type of literary device is FIGURATIVE LANGUAGE

Figurative Language SIMILE: comparison using like or as Kid President is as majestic as a unicorn. METAPHOR: comparison of two things without using like or as. Kid President is a positive light in a sea of darkness.

Figurative Language HYPERBOLE: use of exaggeration for emphasis Kid President’s jokes are so hilarious that I almost drowned in my milk and died.

Figurative Language IMAGERY: use of highly descriptive language that appeals to the senses. The buttery, salty sweet scent of the corn dog floated on the wind.

Figurative Language SYMBOLISM: when an object represents a completely different object to prove a point or convey deeper meaning Kid President’s suit is not only there to show his professionalism, but it’s a symbol of the amazing future he has in store and of the commitment he has to making the world a better place.
