Flow chart: Tissues
Directions Purpose: To create a flow chart to help identify specific tissue types. Key must include: Identification of the 4 tissue classes A way to distinguish individual tissue types within each class. Should include what they look like, where the tissue is found, and the function of the tissue. You will get to use your key on the practical so make sure that you are clear, concise but thorough enough to get you through the practical.
Example: Q: Is there more than one layer of epithelial cells? No: The tissue is considered “simple” – go to shape naming section (Part 2) Yes: Are all the cells attached to the basement membrane? Yes: The tissue is considered “pseudostratified” – go to naming (Part 2) No: The tissue is considered “stratified” – go to naming (Part 2)
