WEMO Community Covenant

What is a Covenant? An Agreement Examples of a Covenant Marriage Biblical Laws Lease/Rent Covenant with Noah, Abraham, with the Israelites-Ten Commandments, David, the New Covenant with Jesus’ death

WEMO Covenant The WEMO Community Covenant is based on Romans 12:10, with an emphasis on respect. We take it very seriously as it is our standard for behavior and our guide to handling any situations that might arise. Participating in an event is a privilege. Participants and adult volunteers are encouraged to enter fully and cooperatively into the community life. These standards are ideals toward which we strive, are non-negotiable and will be enforced on a zero-tolerance basis. If these standards are violated, the violator will be disciplined accordingly up to being sent home at the expense of the parent.

Romans 12:10 "Love one another with brotherly affection.  Outdo one another in showing honor."

Respect other participants and their property whoever is speaking adult leaders event staff other people you may encounter at the event yourself Adults-Church personnel will relate to children and youth with respect, consideration and equal treatment, regardless of sex, race, religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, culture or socio-economic status. Church personnel will portray a positive role model for children and youth by maintaining an attitude of respect, patience, and maturity. They will avoid even the appearance of favoritism.

(I will)Agreements remain with the group during activities will not commit acts of theft or violence will not be involved in bullying will not use or possess any tobacco, alcohol or illegal drugs will not use fireworks, firearms or any other kind of weapon at the event acknowledge sexual behavior of any kind is not appropriate Theft at MP E-cig at camp this includes public displays of affection, i.e. holding hands, excessive hugging, kissing, sitting on laps - and anything else that is seen as crossing a line of sexually inappropriate behavior. This is the one that is broken the most but we need to remember the introduction to the covenant-Participants and adult volunteers are encouraged to enter fully and cooperatively into the community life. Adults-Church personnel are prohibited from discussing their own sexual activities, including dreams and fantasies, or discussing their use of sexually oriented or explicit materials such as pornography, videos or materials on or from the Internet, with children or youth.

Other Rules We Live By Do not bring or wear offensive clothing All medicine, over-the-counter and prescription is to be turned in Once you are at an event you may not leave Cell phone use may be limited

Your Covenant I realize that my choosing to break any of these covenant standards or ones stated at the event will result in consequences that potentially consists of my parents being notified, and if significant enough, being sent home at the expense of my parents. I understand the Covenant standards are non-negotiable. These standards are ideals toward which we strive, are non-negotiable and will be enforced on a zero-tolerance basis. When asked to change a behavior by an adult we expect you to change it after the first mention. When it takes more than one mention by the same person or multiple people then further action must be taken. Every adult should be listened to. Camp this year Remember we are all human, we react off of emotions, make mistakes, we do all that we can to react appropriately.
