Brief Overview EHR Incentive Program is trying to get more providers to use Electronic Health Records (EHR) meaningfully to assist patients Incentive payment issued to providers that successfully attest to the program Need 30% Medicaid patient volume Recently adopted, implemented, or upgraded (AIU) a Certified EHR Technology (CEHRT) Attest to patient volume and EHR usage on the MAPIR website
Brief Overview Incentive paid out over six years and totals $63,750. $21,250 for first year of attestation $8,500 per year for every subsequent attestation (up to five years)
How to Register Register with CMS online at https://ehrincentives.cms.gov/ Must register each individual provider based on NPI Once registered with CMS and MAPIR has provider information an email will be sent to begin MAPIR attestation process
How to Attest Attest by visiting the MAPIR website System will prompt attester for certain necessary information Attester will need to select stage Attester will need to upload supporting documentation Checklist of Supporting Documentation available on CHATTER website Attester will need to submit attestation before March 30th, 2017
Review Process After submission a review process begins: Reviewers: UConn HIT staff (ctmedicaidehr@uconn.edu) Email with issues will be sent to all listed contacts post-review Attester will revise attestation and resubmit Review continues until all issues resolved There is no deadline after the first submission After issues are resolved, the review is considered complete Payment issued at least one pay period after review is complete
Common Mistakes PEL must be in proper format (see CHATTER website) PEL contains duplicate encounters (same patient, same day, same provider) Missing Supporting Documentation (see CHATTER website for list) Supporting documentation numbers do not match numbers entered into MAPIR (PEL and CEHRT Report)
