Mon (T-Ball) & Thurs (CP), 13 & 16 January 2014 Coaching Assignments: Station Leads: Be organized / have a plan Bring your own Ts, equipment and balls (everyone else bring extras) Less talk, more play Simultaneous activity—minimize standing around time for players Stick to the timeline (as best we can) For t-ball and CP, have multiple activities planned for each station Continue to recruit volunteers Mon (T-Ball) & Thurs (CP), 13 & 16 January 2014 1730: Coaches and volunteers meet at Field C for T-ball and Field D for CP, for clinic overview, final planning and field preparation 1750: Coaches set up stations 1800: Players move to outfield areas for calisthenics and light warm-up 1805: League officials (or reps) talk to parents behind home plate (star) Welcome - League values – Expectations 1810: Calisthenics complete / Divide into four groups 1815: Drills begin (no more than 15 minutes per station for T-ball and CP) Throwing (Brian Tolberg Drill: High elbow toss, break egg, side throw, power step/throw); start on knees at the T-ball level Infield (relax-ready-motor-receive-power step-throw); gloves off and on. Use multiple “touch” drills Tennis Ball toss / outfield (gloves off and on) Hitting (wide stance, bend in knees, high hands); use T’s for T-ball and a mix of T’s and ST for CP Rotation Times: 1830/1845/1900: Rotate stations clockwise in numbered order 1-2-3-4 (physically walk your players to the next station). Do not lose control of your players! 1915: Muster players vic. pitcher’s mound for closing comments (league official or rep) 1.
