Copernicus Global Land monitoring service Zoltan SZANTOI European Commission - JRC zoltan.szantoi@ec.europa.eu http://land.copernicus.eu/global

What is Copernicus Copernicus is a program of the European Union aimed at developing European information services based on Earth Observation and in situ data Copernicus is coordinated and managed by the European Commission Copernicus is implemented in partnership with the Member States, the European Space Agency (ESA), the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT), the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF), EU Agencies and Mercator Océan Copernicus Multiannual Financial Framework for 2014-2021 is about €4.3 billion Copernicus data and infrastructure guaranteed beyond 2030

Copernicus User Uptake Registered Users: is the total aggregated number of since the start of operations. Volume of User Downloads: is the total aggregated volume of successful. Published Products: is the total number of products available for users to download from the Copernicus Open Access Hub. Open Access Hub Availability in the past month: is the average (median) availability. The ‘start of operations’ is the 3rd of October 2014, when routine dissemination of Sentinel-1A data on the Copernicus Open Access Hub has began and calculated with on the 21st of February, 2018 Sentinel Data Dashboard User Guide by SERCO

HUB’s overview The Rolling Policy determines the number of days the products are kept on the hub before being removed.

Products Availability on the COAH

Active User Statistics An ‘active user’ is a registered user who downloads at least one full product during the examined period.

Active User Statistics per Country

Publication and Dissemination Trends

Service Availability • Green signals availability of the system for more than 95% of the day • Yellow shows availability for between 90 and 95% of the day and • Orange shows availability for less than 90% of the day

Sentinel-2 Global Mosaic The S2GM was initiated to (1) produce and distribute a seamless mosaic of surface reflectance for 11 spectral bands, (2) answer user defined (specific) requests: Particular region of interest, Aggregation period (10-days, monthly, seasonal) and a subset of the spectral bands. (3) Land information on specific areas of interest for the European Union Framework Contract (Lot1 & Lot2) signed in 10/2017 Specific Production and Distribution contracts with Lot1 Two Lot 1 11/2017 First Specific Contract with Lot2 foreseen in Q1/ 2018

Sentinel 2 Procurements Lot1 production focuses on Europe as Sentinel-2 surface reflectance produts' (Level2A provided by ESA) limited availability. Second phase (Q4/2018) will go global. S2GM service will assist global users using direct distribution (https and advanced web portal) of the data covering any regions but will serve local needs as well. Public release Advanced interface based on the existing ‘Sentinel Hub Mosaic Generator’ Preview and data export Time series generation through Sentinel Hub's API Interface compliant with Geoserver/ OGC standards HTPPS access
