The 1st International Open Science Conference The Vibraimage World JUNG WAS RIGHT. VIBRAIMAGE TECHNOLOGY PROVES THE DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS OF ENERGY DISTRIBUTION FOR EXTRAVERTED AND INTROVERTED PSYCHOPHYSIOLOGICAL STATES Dear Colleagues. I am pleased to present the research work about the assessment of introversion-extraversion levels by the vibraimage technology. Viktor Minkin, Ekaterina Myasnikovab Elsys Corp, Russia, Saint Petersburg minkin@elsys.ru

Introduction to Extraversion–Introversion Carl Jung, (1921) Psychologische Typen, Rascher Verlag, Zurich – translation H.G. Baynes, 1923. Now extraversion–introversion is a central dimension of human personality theories Personality traits, emotions, psychophysiological states, Psychophysiological parameters Extraversion is the state with energy direction from person to outside Introversion is the state with energy direction from person to inside An introvert and an extrovert differ in the direction of the energy distribution (Psychological types, 1921) Carl Jung The terms extraversion and introversion were suggested by Dr. Carl Jung about 100 years ago. Now extraversion and introversion are the main characteristics of personality, although every researcher use these terms based on his own understanding. It is necessary to mention that this situation with subjective understanding of terms is traditional for the psychology of the past and nowadays. Even Jung was founder of Analytical Psychology and tried to do psychology more objective, but every new researcher suggested a new vision of using terms. Vibraimage prefers physical approach to everything, so we prefer to talk about fixed physical and mathematical implementations of psychophysiological parameters because we do not see the difference in physical laws for live and inanimate nature.

Vibraimage as Measurement of Personality Information-Energy Direction Histogram Cybernetics founders (Wiener and Bernstein) stated that every live object could be characterized by two main parameters Information and Energy. Till vibraimage appearance it was only theoretical approach, because there was no technology that is possible to calculate information exchange inside biological system. But one of the vibraimage advantages is a great amount of processing information, so vibraimage allows to assess exchange of information inside physiological systems of a person. By vibraimage is possible to control in real time the psychophysiological state changes in the axes Information and Energy, so it become a real to control Energy direction during the changes of person psychophysiological state. For developing a method for extraversion and introversion calculation was also need to suggest a new method for the fixed changing of psychophysiological state.

Line-Opposite Questions Response For fixed changing of psychophysiological state of a person we used line-opposite questionnaire developed by Elsys team for Multiple Intelligences testing. Line-Opposite Questionnaire Method based on presenting to testing person the sequence of questions together with pictures was realized by vibraimage program named VibraMI. The pairs of presented questions have an opposite sense, so it was supposed to receive an opposite psychophysiological responses from persons to the corresponding opposite questions. The opposite response to a one pair of questions indicated in Information-Energy scale is presented on the left histograms on this slide. It is understandable that the opposite response given on up and down left histograms have different direction in space. Picture given on up left indicates positive correlation between energy and information during it changes and the picture given left down indicates negative correlation between information and energy parameters during it changes. Picture given on the right up position indicates no correlation between information and energy. It is also possible variant of response to the presented stimulus. That means presented stimulus is not significant to a person and psychophysiological response to it determines by the outside factors. Said variants of responses indicate 3 extreme cases of correlation, in real testing usually there are mixed response including more or less parts of every from these 3 variants. The variant of 12 pairs MI testing real response given on the right down histogram. Different variants of scale and aura or external vibraimage

MI group profile statistics Testing procedure The first group consisted of 161 technical students of the St. Petersburg State Electrotechnical University (LETI) the second group consisted of 93 economic students of the St. Petersburg State Technological University (SPSTU The tested students were from 17 to 24 years old. An almost equal gender distribution was observed; with a slight predominance of males (60/40 in LETI and slightly higher in favor of females, 65/35 in PPSTU The extraversion-introversion calculation method was tested on the different groups of people having different conditions during the testing. The first group from 1st year students of technical universities of Saint Petersburg includes more than 250 people. This testing group was sure that said MI testing has influence to the learning outcomes and students could be deleted from Universities, if their Multiple Intelligences Profiles not corresponds to the University profile. The other group includes 3 professors which were interested in the results of MI testing, because they need to have more information about the tested students. MI group profile statistics

Negative I-E correlation dominance On the presented slide indicates typical graphs of students psychophysiological responses to the said MI testing. It is obvious that shown I-E dependence has negative correlation between Information-Energy parameters during line-opposite testing. Of course, there are some deviations in responses, but it is visible without calculation of Pearson coefficient, that moving to more energy gives less information exchange and moving to less energy on the graphs shows more information exchange. So the direction of Information and Energy moving is opposite and correlation between said parameters is highly negative. Typical samples of students I-E correlation during MI testing

I-E correlation diagrams for 24 questions Visual estimation from previous slide confirmed by calculation of Pearson coefficient distribution given to every response on the 24 questions. On the both histograms only 5 responses from 24 have positive values and the most part of responses 19 from 24 have high negative values. Correlation coefficient between I-E parameters for the different individual testing. Left more negative I-E correlation, Right more positive I-E correlation

Statistics of I-E correlation The other given dependences between information and energy parameters indicates the same negative correlation between I-E parameters for students. On the left side we show the average distribution of I-E dependence given for all 250 students during the every question time. On the right side we show the average distribution of final changes between Information and Energy given for every question. We see that the digits of correlation are different but the character of correlation is negative for both cases. Diagnosis of diseases and health by vibraimage

Statistics of I-E Correlation We see the same character of significant negative correlation between Information and Energy parameters for students for different methods of psychophysiological parameters calculation, developed and described in the previous works of Elsys team. So we see prevailing negative correlation between Information-Energy parameters of student MI testing and this negative correlation proves by every mathematical statistics given in this presentation. Based on the said results it is possible to think that the negative dependence between Information and Energy is general rule for MI line opposite testing and any deviation from it is impossible. But it is not so. Application of vibraimage technology for mobile devices

I-E correlation of professors testing For professors testing we see the other type for I-E dependence, look graphs on the slide. Again it is visible without calculations that the main direction of correlation dependence between Information and Energy is positive. That means increasing information gives increasing energy, and back moving for less information gives less value of energy parameter. Information-energy approach to measuring psychophysiological parameters using vibraimage technology

Pearson coefficient distribution for professor testing Statistics of I-E Correlation. Professors testing We see the same type of the positive correlation between energy and information on calculated histograms showing Pearson correlation coefficient distribution corresponding to presented questions-stimuli. On the right histogram the advantage of positive correlation is not so high as 13 to 11, but for the left histogram it is 22 to 2. Pearson coefficient distribution for professor testing

Comparative testing. Students -Professors Let me compare received results and try to understand it. We see significant difference and opposite direction for Information-Energy movement in Students-Professors results. But what was the difference in psychophysiological states during the students and professor testing? The main difference was in stress situation for students (because they were stressed by MI testing) and unstressed by professors because they were interested in the own and students results. Now returns to extraversion-introversion. Lets return to Jung, who said that introvert and extravert have different energy direction. It was genius hypotheses suggested 100 years ago. We think that the said vibraimage testing proved it and Jung definition could be rewrite as the following: Introversion and extraversion psychophysiological states differ by energy movement direction indicated by line-opposite stimuli presentation. Sure, there are many other differences between students and professors, but the proposed hypothesis looks correct, despite having minimal statistics in the group of professors. Of course, any further researches on this hypothesis are welcome. © Elsys Left histograms for students, right for professors

Introversion-Extraversion States Hypothesis 1. The relationship between the information and energy personal characteristics, revealed using the vibraimage technology, makes it possible to assess the changes in the individual PPS and determine the combination of the psychophysiological characteristics of a person. 2. The proposed methodology for the classification of extraversion/introversion level by monitoring the direction of energy changes in response to the opposite questions-stimuli presentation will enable us to more objectively evaluate these characteristics of personality. 3. The PPS changes during the MI testing with the presentation of significant line-opposite stimuli show a dominantly inverse correlation between the information-energy (I-E) parameters. This theoretical research has many practical applications. Some of them are given on the slide. The main sense of this work was to show that for objective measurement of personality it is necessary to use only physical and information principals and exclude traditional psychological terms like pleasure or unpleasure. This approach greatly differs from traditional psychology and we are not waiting a total endorsement. But we are sure that it is right and would be accepted by science in future. I am sure that real scientists will support this work, because science must go forward based on the past achievements. © Elsys
