President-Elect Qualities and Abilities Leadership Must possess at least two more years in office and be open to the possibility of a change in the structure of the presidency. Participate in the dialogue and discernment as the future planning process moves forward. Effectively represent LCWR to the public Team-player Respect for plurality and diversity

President Responsibilities Is Chief Officer of LCWR Represents LCWR; is its spokesperson Works collaboratively with the President-Elect, Past President, and Executive Director Maintains communication with the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life, USCCB, Papal Nuncio, and other groups Chairs annual Assembly and meetings of National Board and Executive Committee

Responsibilities Shared by Presidency President-Elect, President and Past President are all members of: National Board Executive Committee Commission on Religious Life and Ministry The role of Past President is more advisory than active

Time Commitment WITH National Board February and August (Pre and Post Assembly) NOTE: Additional conference call and/or meeting may need to be scheduled Joint LCWR-CMSM meeting with full LCWR Board in February

Secretary Qualities and Abilities Ability to organize and communicate well, to take minutes, and to synthesize Computer literate and comfortable with electronic communications

Secretary Responsibilities Takes and transcribes all minutes of National Board and Executive Committee meetings Signs all official acts/documents of LCWR Member of National Board, Executive Committee and Commission on Religious Life and Ministry Serves under the direction of the President

Time Commitment Executive Committee 2 Executive committee meetings May and November Executive conference calls as needed 2 Joint CMSM-LCWR executive meetings 2 Board meetings 2 Joint CMSM-LCWR board meetings

Timeline 2017 March/April: Regions solicit names for national officers May 1: Due date for names and statements of support to be received in national office May 1-3: National office sends letters and statements of support to nominees; period of discernment for nominees June 3: Response forms and photos sent electronically to national office
