Objectives of the Paleontology SocietyPaleontology To provide an ongoing opportunity for multi- age members of the gifted community whom share a love of Paleontology to attend community meetings/educational evenings To meet and inspire others with similar interests and passions To share knowledge, to acquire new knowledge, and to participate in hands-on activities and events related to various aspects of paleontology

Monthly Themes and Activities 2018/2019 September – The Pleistocene October – The Megaladon November –The Jurassic Era December – Focus on Triceratops January – Entomology February - Botany March – Marine Fossils April – Rocks and Minerals May – Movie Night – are dinosaur depictions accurate? Meetings will include the following types of activities:include such as Hands-on experiences with fossils from the Da Vinci Paleontology Museum (giant woolly mammoth bone, t-rex teeth, cave bear claw, dinosaur footprints, 3.4 billion year old stromatolite and so much more!) Connection to: current research, Math, History, Art, Geology, Botany, Entomology, Literature In-depth microscope study and other detailed examinations of fossils Discussions, debate and other group activities (should we bring back the woolly mammoth to the arctic tundra?) Guest Speakers Sharing/presenting your own specimens or specific interests

Additional Details Meetings: Every fourth Tuesday of the month Cost is $2500 for ten months (this is a tax deductible donation to the Da Vinci Foundation and will support the care and expansion of the museum) Ages 6 and up including adults (as long as paricipants are able to handle precious fossils with great care) Enrollment is limited to 20 members Includes borrowing from the Da Vinci Paleontology Musuem library Meetings: Every fourth Tuesday of the month at Da Vinci Center, 5:30 – 7:30 pm Snacks will be provided 
