ABOUT LA-ACS LA chapter was chartered January 28,1952 In Louisiana there are 512 FACS/members of the College 380 Fellows are LA Chapter members, but always working towards 100% participation

ANNUAL MEETING LA Chapter hosts a two-day annual meeting each January, offering CME and Self-Assessment educational activities Average annual meeting attendance is 150 surgeons and residents Industry supported via sponsorships and exhibitors Special interest sessions in 2016 include NSQIP and advocacy presentations

ANNUAL MEETING Our meeting includes: - Two guest speakers - Resident Paper Awards - Poster Competition - Resident Jeopardy - ACS Update-by College president or officer - Socio-Economic topics - Mock Orals

MOCK ORAL EXAM Lunch and orientation with residents and faculty Open to Fellows and PGY-4 Residents 20 examiners and 14 resident participants 10 chapter members donated the use of their hotel rooms during the exam Total program was approx. 4.5 hours and concluded with a wrap-up…then a celebratory social/Happy Hour! Chapter YFA Committee secured sponsorship for lunch & Happy Hour!
