What is SADD Founded in 1981 as Students Against Driving Drunk SADD has grown into the nation’s largest peer-to-peer youth education and prevention organization with nearly 10,000 chapters in middle schools, high schools, and colleges.
In 1997 SADD changed it’s name to What is SADD In 1997 SADD changed it’s name to Students Against Destructive Decisions at the request of SADD students across the country. SADD continues a “No Use” policy when it comes to alcohol, tobacco, and drugs.

Mission of SADD To EMPOWER young people to successfully confront the risk and pressures that challenge them throughout their daily lives.
SADD Is Dedicated To: A “No Use” policy regarding underage drinking, drug use, and tobacco use.

SADD is Dedicated To: Addressing issues related to drug, alcohol, and tobacco use, violence, teen pregnancy, suicide, bullying and violence, and other destructive decisions.

There are no club dues
Missing a SADD meeting for another club meeting is Unexcused.
There are 3 types of DHS SADD Members: Active Members Non-Active Members Non-Members
To be considered an Active Member you must attend meetings. No Exceptions.
Only Active Members are allowed to volunteer at SADD Activities.
You will be removed as an Active Member if you miss more than 5 meetings per nine weeks.
Non-Active Members are students who have signed a contract, uphold our values, but may not be able to attend meetings because of sports or other school responsibilities.
Non-Active Members are still members of SADD but are ineligible to volunteer for SADD events and activities.
Non-Active to Active students must attend To move from Non-Active to Active students must attend 5 consecutive meetings.
A Non-Member is a student that has been removed from the club A Non-Member is a student that has been removed from the club. Non-Members are not allowed to attend meetings or events.
Non-Members are cleared from our database. All hours earned are removed and no longer certified for scholarships.
Non-Members may be removed for participating in destructive decisions, serious school infractions, or violating the Contract for Life.
Volunteering You will only be allowed to register for volunteer activities at a SADD meeting.
Volunteering You must maintain a C average or higher in all class to be eligible to volunteer.
Volunteering If you register for an event at a meeting you are expected to attend as a volunteer unless removed by the advisor.
Volunteering Members are required to show up for activities 15 minutes prior to their start time.
Volunteering A student who fails to notify the club advisor about missing an assigned event will be removed from all activities for one quarter.
Final Reminder
No one is allowed to sign in a friend. SADD Meetings Members must sign-in at every meeting if they want to have their hours recorded. No one is allowed to sign in a friend.
