Facts and Figures In 2012 31 Million primary school pupils stopped going to school. In 2012 61 million primary aged children were not enrolled at a school. Children who live in rural areas are twice as likely to NOT go to school. In Europe 9 out of every 10 people can read. In Africa only 5 out of 10 people can read. Women who go to school are more likely to reduce their risk of catching HIV/AIDS 2 out of every 3 illiterate people in the world are women.
