Sites and visits in Krakow Auschwitz-Birkenau Arguably Krakow's "must see" visit. The site of the Auschwitz concentration camp is a moving memorial to the over 1.5 million Jews who died there during WWII. Students see a short film about the liberation of the camp before visiting some of the surviving prison blocks, gas chamber and crematorium. One of the most horrific acts in human history is presented with a level of tact, poignancy and professionalism that is profound.

Sites and visits in Krakow Czestochawa Monastery To understand the central role that Catholicism still holds in contemporary Poland, the Czestochawa Monastery is one of the world's greatest places to pilgrimage as people flock to see it's famous icon, the Black Madonna, reproductions of which exist in almost every Polish church.
Sites and visits in Krakow Kazimierz Kazimierz is Krakow's former Jewish quarter which was made world famous thanks to Steven Spielberg's famous film, Schindler's List. Pre World War II, Poland housed the largest Jewish community in Europe and Kazimierz is representative of this. it will enable students to retrace the history of Krakow's Jews, and see the remains of their culture here.
Sites and visits in Krakow Wawel Castle & Cathedral The Wawel Royal Castle and Cathedral on Wawel Hill was built at the time of Casimir III the Great, who reigned from 1333 to 1370. It is the most historically and culturally important site in Poland. The castle is a combination of Medieval Romanesque, Renaissance styles all brought by different rulers and houses extremely valuable museum collections.

Next steps for booking with European Study Tours Provisional Booking – We will hold the travel and accommodation arrangements for your tour while you collect deposits, except in the case of low cost airlines which cannot be held. In this case your price will be based on an estimated flight price and we therefore recommend you ask for an additional £50 contingency to cover any price fluctuation between quoting and time of booking. Booking – You must pay a deposit at the time of booking of £50 per person for UK coach and rail tours, £75 per person for overseas coach and rail tours and £150 per person for air tours. In the case of Low Cost Airlines we will also need a full names list (as per passport). We will then commit to the travel arrangements agreed and begin work on planning your itinerary. You will be registered on our online portal My Tour Manager which will allow you to access your booking at any time where you can view documents, submit passenger information as well as receive reminders about important deadlines to help keep your tour planning on track. Final payment - Final payment for your tour will be due ten weeks before departure. Approximately three weeks before travel (and provided the balance has been paid in full) you will receive a Final Information Pack including tickets, your finalised itinerary and other essential information.
