DDA Access Audit 3 Overview The DDA Access Audit The DDA Access Audit has been specifically designed to assist property managers, surveyors, auditors and consultants to comply with the requirements of Part III of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 The software has been prepared by practising designers and safety professionals who have a detailed understanding and knowledge of DDA Audits; Action Plan management; building design and general health and safety legislation DDA Access Audit The DDA Access Audit software will help to improve the accuracy of information collected on site, whilst significantly reducing the time spent processing field data on your return to the office.

DDA Access Audit 4 Overview This comprehensive software allows for Access Audits to be undertaken using a hand held Pocket PC in real time. The information stored on the Pocket PC can then can be downloaded, on your return to the office, into the DDA Access database to create detailed Action Plans, which can be reviewed and used to manage the modifications and changes required to ensure accessibility. Audit records can then be established for any number or types of properties, be they schools, offices, shops, factories etc.

DDA Access Audit The DDA Access Audit software has been developed to provide a system to formalise the process of Access Audits under the DDA It enables both professional and consistent Access Audits to be undertaken by: Access Consultants/Surveyors Building/Property Managers Building Surveyors Facilities Managers Planning Supervisors Architects and Engineers Landlords and Tenants In fact anyone who has responsibility for the management of non-domestic premises

DDA Access Audit The DDA Access Audit provides: A solution which addresses the requirements of Part III of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 A solution which considers the requirements of Part M of the UK Building Regulations An interactive database system for use on a laptop, desktop and handheld Pocket PCs A Pocket PC based survey/audit solution for carrying out DDA Access Audits and for collating electronic data collected in the field A comprehensive electronic checklist of over 160 key access criteria Additional guidance and information is provided, where appropriate, by simply tapping on the audit item Additional notes and action points can be recorded on the Pocket PC as the audit is undertaken An updatable electronic Action Plan is created to assist in the identification and management of the Accessibility of buildings audited

DDA Access Audit The benefits of using DDA Access Audit include: A simple easy to use and practical, graphical interface which requires no specific IT knowledge. In fact you can be up and running within minutes of loading the software! The package enables Access Audits to be carried out quickly and efficiently in a professional, cost-effective and consistent manner. This enables Access issues to be identified and recorded in real time for one or multiple sites An Action Plan is automatically generated from the information collected during the Access Audit

DDA Access Audit 11 The powerful in-built database means that an almost unlimited number of surveys may be carried out before the Pocket PC is synchronised with its desktop PC, each survey is uniquely identified and automatically time stamped. As shown by the example screens to the right, the DDA Access Audit software contains a series of screens for the various sections covered by the Access Audits. Clicking on the relevant audit item then displays Guidance Information to assist those undertaking the Audit.

DDA Access Audit 12 DDA Access Audit Navigating your way through the Pocket PC DDA Access Audit software is simple! You can either click the Previous or Next buttons, or click on the return to contents hyperlink which is displayed at the bottom of every page. From the contents page you can then jump to the required audit page/section. DDA Access Audit Navigating your way through the Pocket PC DDA Access Audit software is simple! DDA Access Audit 13 Downloading the survey data from your Pocket PC is simple. DDA Access Audit DDA Access Audit All you need to do place your Pocket PC into its docking cradle, start the Pocket PC Creations Software (this is supplied as part of DDA Access Audit) and press the Synchronise button on the desktop. This starts the synchronisation process and automatically downloads all survey data from the Pocket PC to the DDA Access Audit management database. DDA Access Audit 14 DDA Access Audit Welcome Screen Green button, the DDA Access Audit Main Switchboard The first screen that you will encounter in the DDA Access Audit is the Welcome Screen. By clicking on the Green button, the DDA Access Audit Main Switchboard is opened. This enables users to view supporting information, create new Audit Record, open an existing Audit Record or exit the software.

DDA Access Audit 15 DDA Access Audit Home Page Whenever you open an existing Audit Record or create a new Audit Record, you will be presented with the DDA Access Audit Home Page screen. Data is simply entered into the data sheet by clicking on the appropriate box and typing in the information. You also have the option from this screen to go directly to a specific area of the audit, such as Internal Doors; Means of Escape etc. There is no limit on the number of Audit Records that you can have and Audit Records can be filtered by the Site Reference etc. DDA Access Audit Home Page Whenever you open an existing Audit Record or create a new Audit Record, you will be presented with the DDA Access Audit Home Page screen.
