Some numbers about Togo mortality rate : 7.43, 116th in the world medical density: 0.05 doctor/ 1000 inhabitants hospital beds: 0.7 /1000 inhabitants 37.117 road injuries over the 2013-2017 period health expenditure 8% of GDP, is ranked 61st out of 189 referenced countries 4.8% of the national budget

Orthopaedics in Togo Before 2000 orthopaedic remained in the shadow of general surgery (only 2 orthopaedic surgeons) for all the country Between 2000 and 2010 4 orthopaedics for only Lomé (teaching hospital)
Orthopaedics in Togo 2012: creation of residency in orthopaedics We have now 10 orthopaedics, 7 in capital 32 residents from Togo, Chad, Niger, Burkina, Benin, Centrafrique, Cameroun 1 resident in each 6 departements
