Are We Equal Yet? What percentage of the world population is female? B 50 C 51 Answer: C 51%. This may seem obvious, but it varies from country to country. But we are basically talking about, as you might expect, at least half the population of the world. In most developed countries it’s 51%. But in countries such as India and China, where boy babies are preferred and babies may be aborted or poorly fed just because they are female, there are 120 boy babies for every 100 girls.

The UK has only 29% – ranking 48th in world, behind most other EU countries and many developing countries. In East Africa the country of Rwanda has over 60%.
