Hello, My name is Jessica Trevino

The area of research I chose to explore is hermaphroditism. By doing so I am able to inform the owners of both the basic and complex information of this rare mutation. In addition to being informative I hope to be a solution to those who continue to seek it. As proceeding through research I gained information needed to better help myself be the best parent I could be to my hermaphrodite.

REASON FOR TOPIC I was interested in completing this project over hemaphroditism because of my encounter with my hermaphrodite Magnum. Magnum opened up doors for me as well as others who were unaware of this rare case. Allowing myself to be informative, it is very likely I can teach other parents how to better their situation at home.

HERMAPHRODITISMHERMAPHRODITISM

What Is A Hermaphrodite? Canine with both genders (boy & girl ) Called Freak Of Nature Mixed chromosom e pairing

Chromosomes Gender determined by the basic pairing. Females (XX) Males (XY) Carries genetic information from DNA molecules Found in the nucleus of a cell. Stringy Not visible by eye nor microscope

Hermaphrodite Psuedohermaphrodite

Hermaphrodite 25% of all cases are TRUE Hermaphrodites. – Small or enlarged penis. – Enlarged clitoris, everything aside appears normal. – Testes or ovatestes inside abdomen (does not descend in scrotal sacs) Pet lives with very few problems and rarely diagnosed. Female dogs do not have heat cycles and often can not reproduce.

Psuedohermaphrodite Chromosome pairing is accurate Gonads do not match the pairing. 75% of hermphrodites are actually psuedohermaphrodites. TIP : Gonads: organs responsible for the secretion of hormones. (Ovaries & Testicles ) A state in which an individual possesses the internal reproductive organs of one sex while exhibiting some of the external physical characteristics of the opposite sex. Also called false hermaphroditism.

SOLUTIONSSOLUTIONS Surgery Price varies - Spay/Neuter -Anesthesia -Time

Dangers Infection to open wound. Cancer without proper treatment internally.

My Solution Items needed: Cotton Balls Water Antibacterial Soap Tissue Procedures o Position pet so wound is visible and easy to reach o Wipe down area with cotton ball damped with water o Be certain area is dry o Apply a fair amount of soap on second cotton ball. o Wipe down area a second time with applied soap o Go over wound making sure area is clear of any remaining soap o Analyze your performance making sure area is fully clean.

Breeds American cocker spaniel German short-haired pointer Beagle Basset hound Pug Kerry blue terrier Weimaraner.
