Objective of the study To study the existing of water supply and sanitation (Latrine) situation in Phongsaly and Lamam urban central districts, particularly on water supply connection, water quantity-quality, financial, and environment pollution for sanitation. Why do selected this two districts? Refer to National Growth and Poverty Eradication Strategy (NGPES) to the year 2020, particular on Water Supply and Sanitation. At present, there is 72 poor districts in Lao PDR, which 47 Districts is the first priority development for water supply and sanitation from 2003-2005. Phongsaly and Lama are also included in the first priority. This case study has included in the Poverty-Environment Nexus (PEN II), which organize by ERI/STEA. 11/19/2018

Conclusion Phongsaly Lamam Water supply is big problem in both dry & rainy season Water supply system is appropriate & facility Water supply system is difficult implement & management Water supply quantity is sufficient all 24 h Insufficient of water sources for HH usage in dry season Have a little bit problem of water quality in rainy season Pour Flush Latrine system is problem in HH (water quantity) increase number of Pour Flush Latrine in HH Dry pit latrine is not suitable technique in HH Some poor HH still use Dry Pit Latrine & HH just moved 11/19/2018
