Environmental Science & Technology Department – Austin Community College

An aspect of the program that could useful for a two-year college (2YC) transfer program to adopt Recent changes in the transfer degree plan to include more laboratory/field courses as restricted electives. The program has benefited from the workforce program’s advisory committee recommendations The department has always stressed field/lab oriented courses.

Other Recommendations Encourage students to use unrestricted electives to take more science and science related courses The department recommends such courses as Geographic Information Systems, Geology, Biotechnology, Field Biology. Incorporate undergraduate research projects in courses whenever possible.
