What can I take on the plane? Each person can check one bag up to 50lbs (leave space for things you buy) You can take one carry on and one personal item (purse, etc.) Smaller instruments- Fl, Cl, Alto Sax, Mello, Trpt, Baritones (check all valve oil)- will carry onto the plane. Always follow TSA/school restrictions (weapons, illegal drugs, etc.) Percussion equipment, tuba, and bari sax will be borrowed from a school. You must take your own mouthpieces, reeds, and sticks.

How to Travel Wear your travel shirt as we move together as a group. Be patient and always listen for instructions. Be flexible. You will be walking! The only changes will come from a director or Mr. Forsythe. Please do not listen to/spread rumors. We will send a remind for most updates. To change times quickly, it is suggested to try to sleep during the travel day so you can stay awake longer. If you can make it to 10 or 11, you will have an easier time on day two. Day 1- Departure Meet at the school at 4:00 a.m. Depart for the airport on motor coaches at 4:30 a.m. Airport check-in varies for group All adults (18 and older) must have a valid government issued photo ID. Students should travel with an ID. If you don’t have one, bring your school ID. All bags should have the MTC tag attached. Arrival -what it looks like

Security Each airport is different and they are different at certain times. Students will go through with an adult. Meet at gate at designated time. You will most likely need to remove everything from your person (empty all pockets, phones, wallets, keys, money, etc.) Belts and shoes must come off. For carry on: Laptops, tablets, and large electronics need to come out. Toiletries should be in a quart size ziploc bag. Please check size limitations for liquids especially (don’t try to take a large bottle of sunscreen in a carry on, etc.) Random checks for TSA/extra security

When to Eat? You will be responsible for breakfast on Departure day. You can bring it with you, eat before you leave, or eat at the airport. Lunch- You will receive $10 of meal money. Options: Eat on on the layover (will be a shorter time for Flight A) Pack food to eat Purchase food on the plane it must be a debit or credit card Flight A people will receive a lunch on the plane

Arrival/Check-in Upon arriving in Honolulu, please make sure you have all of your luggage. We will move as a group to baggage claim and then the bus. At the hotel, please be patient as we check in. There will be 2 keys per room. You will have some free time in the hotel before meeting for dinner. Any swimming time needs an adult. 6:30 p.m. Dinner- walk to the beach.

Monday 7:30 a.m. Breakfast at Hotel (don’t have to go at once) 8:30 a.m. Depart the Hotel 9:00 a.m. Diamond Head- everybody goes, but you don’t have to hike up. 11:00 a.m. Eastern Shores Tour Lunch in Area Free Afternoon* 5:00 p.m. meet for Dinner at Tanaka 10:00 p.m. Curfew

Tuesday 7:00 a.m. Breakfast at Hotel 8:00 a.m. Depart Pearl Harbor- Bags 9:00 a.m. Welcome Center 10:00 a.m. Movie and USS Arizona 12:00 p.m. Lunch, Warm-up 1:00 p.m. Performance 1:45 p.m. USS Missouri self-guided tour City Tour 5:00 p.m. Dinner at Bubba Gump and shopping 10:00 p.m. Curfew Ladies purses are fine, no big bags, camera bags are fine.

Wednesday 6:45 a.m. Breakfast at the Hotel 7:45 a.m. Depart the Hotel 9:00 a.m. Secret Island- water activities, beach, and lunch 2:00 p.m. Return to Hotel to change and freshen up 4:30 p.m. Depart Hotel 6:00 p.m. Luau 10:30 p.m. Curfew

Thursday 8:00 a.m. Breakfast at the Hotel 9:15 a.m. Depart Hotel 10:00 a.m. Catamaran cruise- Sign up tonight for boat 1 or 2 12:00 Option- eat lunch in that area and walk back to hotel or bus back to hotel and then head to lunch. Must still be in a group. The walk is about 30 min. Free afternoon 5:00 Depart hotel (walking) for Hard Rock Flight D will have dinner and then head to the airport- Mr. Brosman will drive you home. Arrival around 4:45-5:00.

Friday Breakfast at the Hotel Movie Set Tour 6:00 a.m. Breakfast, 7:00 a.m. depart, 9:15 a.m. tour, 10:45 a.m. free time at ranch and lunch, 1:00 p.m. return Manoa Falls- 8:00 a.m. Breakfast, depart 9:00 a.m., 9:45 a.m. Manoa Falls, 12:00 p.m. return, lunch and free time Pack 5:00 Load for Airport Check-in/dinner in the airport
