Native American Lit Socratic Seminar Prep

Native American Socratic Seminar Prep Identity Stereotypes Community Tradition Family Cultural Pride Rank order the following terms (1-6) according to their overall importance and presence in the pieces we analyzed during this unit: “Indian Education,” “Imagining the Reservation,” and Smoke Signals. Justify your top three choices. Write a minimum of 4-5 sentences for each of your choices.

Setting Up Our Socratic Seminar Inside/Outside Circle You do need to be part of the inner circle at least once! How will you earn your points?

Socratic Seminar Reflection Part 1 (20 points):  After participating in our Socratic seminar, please share with me any of the following questions: how has your thinking changed about a specific piece or idea? What was an ah-ha moment that you had from the discussion? What lingering questions or ideas are you still wondering about? Your response should be 6-8 sentences. Be sure your reflection is specific - you need to provide clear discussion points to demonstrate your application of our ideas from the Socratic seminar. Remember that you can answer just one of the questions, or several - it is up to you. If you were absent for the Socratic seminar see me to get your make-up for the reflection. Part 2 (10 points): How engaged were you in the seminar? Give yourself a score 0-10 and justify that score appropriately.

Options for Today Read your story for the Archetypal Lit Crit Microtheme - the actual microtheme is due to turnitin on Friday by 7:30am. Work on writing your Archetypal Microtheme.
