Proverbs 22:6 We are responsible for our children. Proverbs 22:6 1. “Train up a child in the way he should go:” a. Train means to initiate, dedicate, or consecrate to the LORD, and to his service. This would be “in the way he should go.” b. This means there must be an abundance of education (teaching), as well as providing an example that cannot be missed. 2. When he is old, he will still remember what he was taught and shown. a. It is so very important that a child start practicing what is right from the beginning. b. I do not believe this causes the impossibility of apostasy. I. When a child is grown he still has to make decisions, and some decide to do wrong. ii.
