2 Kings 4:26 Please run now to meet her, and say to her, ‘Is it well with you? Is it well with your husband? Is it well with the child?’ ” And she answered, “It is well.” 2 Kings 4:26

Proverbs 22:6 We are responsible for our children. Proverbs 22:6 1. “Train up a child in the way he should go:” a. Train means to initiate, dedicate, or consecrate to the LORD, and to his service. This would be “in the way he should go.” b. This means there must be an abundance of education (teaching), as well as providing an example that cannot be missed. 2. When he is old, he will still remember what he was taught and shown. a. It is so very important that a child start practicing what is right from the beginning. b. I do not believe this causes the impossibility of apostasy. I. When a child is grown he still has to make decisions, and some decide to do wrong. ii. It may be that we left something out of our teaching, or the child is confronted with some of Satan’s powerful wicked influences and succumbs. Next Slide

Ephesians 6:4 Ephesians 6:4 1. "Provoke not your children to wrath" (anger). a. By unreasonable demands. b. By being too severe. c. By one's anger. d. By not being consistent, or by not keeping one's word, and so the child loses confidence in the parent. 2. Rather they should be brought up (nurtured) in the discipline (training) and admonition (correction) of the Lord. (cf. Titus 3:10) a. This covers all the areas which contribute to moral and spiritual training. b. This means to the training and education of a child. c. “Of the Lord” means such discipline (admonition) that is prescribed by the Lord. Next Slide
