State Textbook Manager System Enhancements District Textbook Coordinators Meeting April 22, 2009

Current Status State Destiny Textbook Manager implementation is past its midpoint 63 districts and over 1000 schools on system Tracking over 2 million textbook copies Planning underway for moving in the 3 locally-installed Textbook Manager districts over the summer Greenville, Spartanburg 7, Lexington 5 New enhancements to the State Destiny Textbook Manager system are now available

Enhancements Overview Receiving orders from the State Returning textbooks to the State Annual state textbook inventory process Reviewing outstanding charges for lost textbooks New functions in Textbook Manager will now replace these existing functions in the mysctextbooks.com system.

mysctextbooks.com New functions in Textbook Manager will now replace these existing functions in the mysctextbooks.com system.

Quick Help Documents All documentation is available on the mysctextbooks.com site under What’s New section.

Receiving orders Textbooks shipped from State Depository will now show in Textbook Manager as transfers from State Orders shipped from State could contain barcoded textbooks and new textbooks Scan barcoded textbooks to receive Enter counts of new textbooks to receive You can assign barcodes to new textbooks as they are received, or at a later time As orders are sent to your district, your inventory for state-owned textbooks is automatically increased

Transfers within a district All state-owned textbook transfers between schools within a district should be completed using the Transfer Textbooks function in Destiny Textbook Manager As textbooks are transferred between schools, each school’s inventory for state-owned textbooks is automatically adjusted Information on all completed transfers is available on the new Archive tab

Returning textbooks to State All textbook returns to the State are will now be handled with new Returns functionality Functionality is very similar to existing process Barcoded textbooks are scanned when defining a return Provide a count for each title for new textbooks being returned

State Inventory Process State-wide inventory will be completed in Destiny Textbook Manager for all state-owned books Scan barcoded copies Enter counts for titles/copies that are not barcoded Books checked in after May 1 will not need to be rescanned for inventory Keep these books separated from other available inventory to minimize the scanning

State Inventory Process System will remind users of the need to complete inventory in the system All incoming transfers must be received before beginning your inventory process Once the results of the inventory have been reviewed by the State, information on charges or credits can be accessed in the system
