Goal To provide Puente teachers and counselors with strategies and activities to engage students in community, leadership, service, and mentoring.

Essential Question How do we inspire our students to think beyond themselves?

Community Service Reflection What community service have you done so far? (this year) How are these experiences helping you become a better person? A better leader? What are you learning through doing community service?

Teachers & Counselors must... -Help students realize the benefits of service, mentoring, and leadership -Create high expectations -Model the expectations by engaging in service, mentoring, and leadership at the school site and in the community -Facilitate opportunities for self-reflection and opportunities for students to learn and empathize with the struggles of others
