Number 1 What are your career goals? Remember, you’ll be required to submit a “statement of interest” and the reviewers of your application, the members of the AASLD Membership and Mentorship Committee will want to know more about your ideas for a career in medicine or research. What do you want to practice, research, study? What’s your dream job?

Prominently feature your academic pursuits Number 2 Prominently feature your academic pursuits Be sure to tell us all about your short-term and long-terms goals, specifically.

State ALL your leadership experience Number 3 State ALL your leadership experience Don’t be shy! Everything counts!

Number 4 How to pick a mentor Your mentor needs to clearly state in their letter of recommendation how they have come to know you, work with you and how they plan to continue to mentor you during your training. A simple letter stating they know who you are and have participated in their academic program will not work!
