The English Reformation Henry VIII, his wives, his daughters, and a new church!

Henry VIII wanted a son

His first wife, Catherine of Aragon…was “broken”

Naturally, Henry VIII asked for an annulment (divorce). Pope said “No” Naturally, Henry VIII asked for an annulment (divorce). Pope said “No”** Henry VIII said, “Ok I’ll create a new church”

Why would Pope Clement VII reject Henry VIII?

Because there is always Drama Catherine of Aragon was Charles V’s Aunt. Charles V (grandson of Ferdinand and Isabella) was Holy Roman Emperor (Hapsburg Family) Pope Clement VII was controlled by HRE…which means the emperor who was also the nephew of Catherine of Aragon!!! The “Broken” wife of Henry VIII of England! Because there is always Drama
