Take It Like a Man (The Power of Unconscious Beliefs) Walt Tomme January 10 and 17, 2018

God Provides More than Fire Insurance

Saratoga, TX (1947 – 1949)

Interesting conclusions have been drawn from this picture

Take It Like a Man Out of Control. Loss of Control. Imagined Control. Romans 8:28-29 New American Standard Bible (NASB) 28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. 29 For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son Out of Control. Loss of Control. Imagined Control. Relinquished Control.

All this sounds like a great ending This is not the end of the story The man covered with chicken Feces was in a completely different place 22 years earlier

Walt’s Dad W.S. Tomme, Sr. 1925 -26

W.S. Tomme, Sr.

The greatest changes came between 45 and 60 God’s desire is to completely transform us The end game is for us to be like Jesus Next week we will talk about how He changes our inner world The things that drive our behavior – unconscious / involuntary things

Table Discussion Who was the most instrumental person who influenced you in your faith in Christ? What circumstances provided the motivation to seek God’s control over your life? How has God worked to make your life different?
