World History December 17, 2008 Take the first few minutes of class to read and review Chapter 13, Section 5 beginning on page 434. When finished review the extra credit opportunity.

Group Discussion Question #1 Describe the characteristics of the Renaissance, and why it began in Italy versus northern Europe.

Group Discussion Question #2 List several of the most important Renaissance artists, including some of their specific works and accomplishments.

Group Discussion Question #3 Why was the invention of the printing press so important during the Renaissance, and what impact did this have on the Reformation?

Group Discussion Question #4 What were some of the causes of the Reformation, and who led some of the early revolts and protests against the Church?

Group Discussion Question #5 List and briefly describe two new sects of Catholicism that formed out of the Reformation. Also in England, what new Church formed?
