The Precious Invitation for Rest God has always offered rest for His people. (Psalm 16:7-9; 116:1-7) Concerning this matter of rest, the most beautiful invitation ever given to man comes from Jesus our Lord and Savior. In His invitation to all of us, He offers us rest from our worries, fears, stresses, and burdens! (Matthew 11:28-30) We can accept this invitation if we will obey the words of Acts (3:19).

The Prevailing Insistence of God In our main text of Psalm (23:2), David says, God makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. How is it that God can make us do anything? How is it that God can have a prevailing insistence concerning our rest and refreshment?

The Prevailing Insistence of God God is able to prevail in our lives because He knows we crave rest from our stresses and burdens and that we will do whatever He says in order to achieve that rest. Thus, God plainly teaches us in His Word that rest will come when we allow Him to lead us beside the still waters of: –The Right Priority(Matthew 6:33,34) –The Right Perspective(Genesis 18:14) –The Right Principle(Mark 6:31) –The Right Path(Jeremiah 6:16) –The Right Promise(Hebrews 4:1,9)
