Darwin’s Finches A Finch in a Pinch
Darwin’s Finches Are the 13 different species of Finch found on the Galapagos Islands. The study of these birds helped inspire Darwin’s theories.
Common Ancestor Darwin’s observations led him to believe that all 13 species evolved from a common ancestor.
Divergence A bird’s beak is a tool adapted for survival. Darwin’s Finches are an example of divergence of closely related species. Each species have evolved its’ own beak variation suited to a specific food source.
