Step 1: Power Power = Prompt Carefully read the prompt. The prompt is your directions on what to write. Read the next expository prompt.
Expository Prompt READ the information in the box below. Every school has rules that students must follow. THINK about the rules at your school and in your classroom. WRITE about the rules at your school and explain why the rules are important
Topic Sentence 2nd Step Pride = Plan Make sure you include words from the prompt to write a topic sentence. Example: WRITE about the rules at your school and in your classroom and explain what they are important. At school, it is important for students to follow classroom rules. Classroom rules are important for students to learn and follow.

Step 3 Rock = Rough Draft Start writing your paper. Try to use your plan. Stay on topic!!! Include your topic sentence. Add details and examples. The last sentence is your conclusion.
Step 4 Roll = Revise Checklist Here are some things to check on paper: ___ Do I have a topic sentence and great introduction? ___ Do I have strong details and examples? ___ Do I have a conclusion that includes the topic? ___ Did I change the beginnings of sentences? ___ Did I use transition words? ___ Do my sentences have SWAG?
