Losing Focus

As church leaders, we need to correctly understand, safeguard, and maintain focus upon our God-given mission

“external focus” vs. “internal focus” “leadership for results begins outside, not inside the organization.” “macro vs. micro”

Failure to recognize a compelling, outward focus as a key to church health and leadership typically results in what I would refer to as… “mission confusion”

When pastors and boards take an external/macro approach to church leadership, it will lead to the inevitable discovery of a common, overarching mission “The Mission of God”

“I will look on you with favor and make you fruitful and increase your numbers, and I will keep my covenant with you. You will be eating last year’s harvest when you will have to move it out to make room for the new. I will put my dwelling place among you and be your God, and you will be my people.” Lev. 26:9-12
