06 11 10.40 Rough Framing, Walls Walls are one of the most important parts of a structure, therefore wall framing is one of the most important activity’s of the construction process. Beside the obvious reasons that make walls important (e.g. supporting the roof, exterior materials, and etc.) there is also the fact that many other activities of the construction process can not proceed until completion of the framing. Every project is different so the duration and quantity of framing will depend on the size of the project. Figure 2.1. A strong roof helps protect the structure and it’s occupants during bad and extreme weather conditions. 06 16 36.10 0030 Roof Decking Aside from the roof framing the next important part of a roof is the decking. The decking is what the external material of the roof will attach to. Roof decking is very diverse and the type of roof decides what type of decking to apply. Roof Decking is also very crucial in making the roof more rigid and structural sound. Figure 4.1.
